It's important to our neighborhood, and I haven't heard anything about it for at least 6
months.

I was hoping Frank Pafco's leaving his position at the state, together with a year's experience with the northbound
access to our neighborhood at Snelfng and Oakcrest that's working beautifully, would have caused the State to
reconsider it's position. No such luck.
I fail to see why forcing us to proceed to "Cft and making a U-turn at this busiest intersection in the City is better
than the current solution we now have-a northbound access to our neighborhood at Oakcrest.

I ask City traffic engineers if they concur with the State that going to C and making a U turn there is better than
what we have. I think what we have is working great! I see no problem with it. I ask the City Council to re-
engage the state authorities on this issue. I suspect a practical decision is being sacrificed to turf wars and hurt
feelings.

As a minimum, we need to preserve the ability of emergency vehicles to access our neighborhood from the
Snelling/Oakcrest location, so they can get to the Sunrise nursing home timely. Inability of emergency vehicles to
use the quickest route would be a disaster.

I understand the sports gym is planning to sell it's property and move to a new location. They cannot survive
with restricted access Also, the Bingo operation needs to be relieved of it's obligation to keep signage that directs
it's patrons to right turn only. Their customers will need to turn left (west) on Oakcrest and proceed to Fairview for
north travel.

The City has proposed 6 alternative possibilities, but I understand that they are not all financially feasible. The
City needs to determine what is financially feasible, and only offer several options to the residents. I suggest only
one Fairview option, the best by staff's judgment, and of course the C at Herschel option. And then let the
neighborhood choose which, if any, they want. I don't think we know at this point what we can do financially, and
what the neighborhood wants.

I'Ie SaHd4

Sunday, February 26, 2006 America Online: ESANDS2612
