<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br />of Rose vi lIe, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 27th day of March, <br />2006, at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Maschka; Pust; Ih1an; Kough and Mayor Klausing <br />and the following were absent: none. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 10392 <br />Councilmember-Initiated Agenda Items <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the ability of counci1members to place items on the council's agenda is an <br />important tool for counci1members to fulfill their roles as elected officials: <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the ability of the council and staff to effectively manage their work load <br />and to properly consider items appearing before them requires that they <br />receive sufficient notice of agenda items; <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that counci1members have the right to place items on <br />the agenda as follows: <br /> <br />A counci1member may, at a council meeting, request that an action item be placed <br />on a future council agenda, or; <br /> <br />A counci1member may make a request for an agenda item outside of a council <br />meeting by submitting an emai1 request to the city manager, with a copy of the emai1 to <br />the other counci1members, no later than noon of the Wednesday preceding the council <br />meeting. That agenda item will be included on the agenda for the next council meeting <br />under the heading "Future Council Agenda Items," for notice purposes only, not for <br />action or removal from future agendas, but will not be an action item. The item will <br />become a regular council agenda item (i.e., for discussion and action) at the subsequent <br />council meeting, or; <br /> <br />A counci1member may request the addition of an emergency agenda item at the <br />same meeting at which the item is to be addressed. However, the addition of an <br />emergency agenda item shall require the approval of a majority of the counci1members <br />present. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Member Maschka, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof: Maschka; Pust; Kough and Mayor Klausing <br />and the following voted against the same: Ih1an. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
