<br />Regular City Council Minutes - 08/04/03 <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn reiterated his concern that past Council <br />discussion was not consistent with this proposal. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka requested, when staff returns <br />with additional information to revisit this issue, that staff <br />report on those affected individuals; shift implications; and <br />grant application status. <br /> <br />Chief Gasaway responded that the entire Fire Department <br />was trained in medical First Response; and had thirty-two <br />(32) trained EMT's; one (1) Paramedic trained employee; <br />and that the grant application was still in process, with <br />awards anticipated now through year-end. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka asked Chief Gasaway if this was <br />a management attempt to upgrade training throughout the <br />department; with Chief Gasaway responding affirmatively. <br /> <br />Ftecess Ftecess <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn recessed the meeting at 7:18 p.m. and <br />reconvened the meeting at 7:31 p.m. <br /> <br />IV. <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />V. <br /> <br />Ftecognitions <br /> <br />VI. <br /> <br />Public Hearings <br /> <br />A. Consider Change in City's Ftesidential Ftecycling Policy <br />and Contract <br />Kysylyczyn moved, Maschka seconded, continuing the <br />City's residential collection process with no program <br />changes. <br /> <br />Recycling Coordinator Tim Pratt provided the requested <br />amended recycling contract language between the City and <br />Waste Management, allowing the City to switch the level <br />of residential curbside recycling collection from the <br />current two-sort method to Waste Management's single- <br />stream method.
