Presentation and Council Direction about Changing the City's Telephone Numbering Plan K ysylyczyn moved, Maschka seconded directing staff to pursue a "651-792-7xxx" telephone numbering plan. Finance Director Chris Miller reviewed several aspects of the proposed phone number change, particularly the extensive public educational time required; and sought Council direction as to how long of a phase-in they preferred. Discussion included availability of and preference for the identified prefix; and the financial impact of $50.00 per month to reserve the block of 1,000 contiguous numbers until the City's IP Telephony system was operable, at which time the other numbers would be phased out. Establishing Wednesday or Thursday, September 10 or 11, 2003, as a Special City Council Meeting to Canvass the Primary Election Vote, as required by state law Maschka moved, Schroeder seconded directing staff to schedule, and provide due notice of, a Special Council meeting for the purpose of a canvass of Primary Election results; to be held at City Hall at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2003, as amended.
