It will be <br />especially in1portant when voters realize how 111uch you are spending to prevent an appointee, by <br />the council, to den10nstrate his or her capabilities as a council n1en1ber. <br />To sUl11illarize, no special election should occur prior to the general fall election already <br />scheduled. There should be 111ini111al cost at the tin1e, as the polls will already be open. I <br />personally would trust the council to fill the cunent vacancy for the ren1ainder of vacant seat, but <br />feelluore residents should state their views. If residents do prefer a special election, then <br />consideration should be ll1ade to extend the tenu. It is not fair to a candidate to n1ake then1 run <br />so n1any years in a row.
