<br />Regular City Council Minutes - 11/24/03 <br />Page 33 <br /> <br />reduction of $5,000 to the NYFS. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder spoke against the motion. <br /> <br />Councilmember Maschka concurred, citing it as a core <br />function of the Police Department. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough spoke against the motion, <br />recommending continued funding at the current level. <br /> <br />Counciln1en1ber Klausing spoke against the motion. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Maschka, Schroeder, Kough, Klausing and <br />Kysylyczyn. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />Su ested Reduction <br />Elilninate Prilnary Election <br /> <br /> <br />Kysylyczyn moved, without second, elimination of the <br />municipal Primary Election in 2005. <br /> <br />After limited discussion, City Attorney Anderson noted <br />that this was a policy issue, not a budget issue, and not <br />applicable to budget discussions at this time. <br /> <br />Su ested Reduction <br />Maintain City code in-house <br /> <br /> <br />Su gested Amount <br />$5,000 <br /> <br />Kysylyczyn n10ved, Kough seconded, maintaining the <br />City code in-house, at a projected savings of $5,000. <br /> <br />Counciln1ember Schroeder noted that it was his <br />understanding that staff was already maintaining the code, <br />so there was actually no cost-savings to be realized. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn concurred and withdrew his motion, <br />and Councilmember Kough withdrew his second. <br /> <br />Suggested Reduction <br /> <br />Suggested Amount <br />
