Mr. Yost noted that he periodically clears the <br />intake culvert after heavy rains between Langton Lake <br />and Wilson Pond to keep his yard froIn flooding, and <br />suggested he would like to "retire" from that duty. <br /> <br />E. Tam McGehee <br />Ms. McGehee suggested, as part of the upcoming <br />budget discussions, with Dennis Welsch retiring as the <br />Community Development Director and City Manager <br />Beets looking for a new position, that the City Council <br />withhold filling Mr. Welsch's position and use existing <br />staff. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough <br />Councihnember Kough noted his recent attendance in <br />N orthfield, MN of special recognition given to the <br />returning 434th Chemical Battalion, as they were given <br />service medals for their recent service in Iraq. <br />Councilmember Kough noted that Mayor Klausing <br />attended several ceremonies prior to their deployment. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough presented to the City Council, <br />on behalf of the community, a picture entitled <br />"Freedom of America" by Rick Kelly, presented by the <br />434th Chemical Battalion in recognition and <br />appreciation for the community support of the <br />battalion. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing thanked Councilmember Kough for <br />his attendance at the Northfield ceremony and for his <br />representation of the City. <br /> <br />2.
