City Council Regular Meeting - 04/24/06 Minutes - Page 29 Public Works Director Schwartz reviewed various construction and/or reconstructions projects; County turnback roads requiring City Council action for "No Parking" signage dependant on State Aid standards and road widths. Mr. Schwartz noted that those situations always required City Council action; and the Public Works, Environment, and Transportation Commission's annual review and ongoing traffic-related requests addressing neighborhood concerns. Mr. Schwartz further noted that, at their meeting on April 25, 2006, part of the Commission's and staffs goals, and through the community visioning process, would be to develop guidelines to address various traffic issues and signage. Councilmember Ihlan spoke in support of the motion to maintain City Council accountability and knowledge; not giving away any of their authority. Roll Call Ayes: Ihlan and Kough. Nays: Maschka; Pust and Klausing. Motion failed. City Attorney Anderson clarified, at the request of Councilmember Pust, that the ordinance would be adding Section 601.05. Roll Call Ayes: Maschka; Pust and Klausing. Nays: Ihlan and Kough. Recess Recess Mayor Klausing recessed the meeting at approximately 8 :06 p.m. and reconvened at 8: 14 p.m. 10. Appoint Steering Committee Members as Part of the Community Visioning Process Mayor Klausing suggested, with Council consensus, that given the qualified and eager group of applicants, consideration be given to expanding the proposed steering committee for the community visioning process, from five to seven members. Discussion included the appointment process itself; inclusion of all applications received by staff; Council direction to staff to Appoint Steering Committee Members as Part of the Community Visioning Process
