Land Use <br /> <br />VIII. Reports and Recommendations <br /> <br />A. Consider the Issuance of Permit to Conduct Lawful <br />Gambling Activities at KFAN - The Restaurant, 2801 <br />Snelling Avenue North <br />Maschka moved, Schroeder seconded adoption of <br />Resolution No. 10165 entitled, "Resolution Approving a <br />Lawful Gambling Premise Permit to the North Suburban <br />Youth Foundation," to conduct lawful gambling activities <br />at 2801 Snelling Avenue, subject to complete background <br />checks. <br /> <br />Councilmember Klausing questioned the process for <br />monitoring actual donations of charitable organizations; <br />and suggested to staff that including that information in <br />their staff report with applications may be beneficial. <br /> <br />R. Robert Matson, Executive Director/CEO of North <br />Suburban Youth Foundation <br />Mr. Matson advised that a monthly report was provided to <br />City staff, designating funding allocations and <br />disbursements; and outlined several of the associations <br />that had been recipients in the past, including schools, <br />youth football programs, cultural programs, and <br />scholarship programs representing approximately <br />$160,000 in annual contributions from the Foundation, <br />with the Foundation evaluating individual grant applicants <br />based on qualifications and need. <br /> <br />Finance Director Miller advised that each charitable <br />gambling organization's activities were dictated by their <br /> <br />Land Use <br /> <br />Reports and <br />Recommendations <br /> <br />Resolution 10165 <br />Consider the <br />Issuance of Permit <br />to Conduct Lawful <br />Gambling Activities <br />at KFAN - The <br />Restaurant, 2801 <br />Snelling Avenue <br />North <br />
