<br />Regular City Council-12/15/03 Minutes <br />Page 17 <br /> <br />increase in addition to a 1 % market increase; with those <br />funds included in the 2004 Budget. <br /> <br />There appeared to be some confusion among <br />Councilmembers as to their original intent; and several <br />were under the in1pression that the Union contracts would <br />be comparable to non-union wage increases at a 2.3% <br />COLA. <br /> <br />Maschka moved, Klausing seconded, authorization to staff <br />to re-open the 2003 - 2004 International Union of <br />Operating Engineers (4ger' s) Contract to renegotiate the <br />2004 Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) as provided for <br />in the collective bargaining agreement; authorizing staff to <br />prepare the necessary documents to provide the same <br />COLA for the 4ger's in 2004 as is approved by the City <br />Council for the non-union and exempt staff; and <br />authorizing the Mayor and City Manager to execute this <br />COLA amendment upon an acceptance vote by the union. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Kough, Maschka, Klausing, Schroeder and <br />Kysylyczyn. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />D.
