These <br />gifts have been in the form of both materials and monies. When staff is notified of a potential donation they first <br />l11ake a detenl1ination of whether to recommend acceptance based on the suitability of the iten1 for the city. A <br />request for authorization is then forwarded to city council. <br /> <br />Policy <br />The follovving is the City of Roseville policy regarding the acceptance of donations: <br /> <br />· Minnesota statute requires all donations to be accepted by the City Council. <br />· The staff will not solicit donations <br />· Donors will be informed that no conditions or promises of future favorable city action on their behalf l11ay <br />be attached the gift. <br />· Following Council acceptance, staff will send a letter of appreciation to each donor. <br /> <br />Financial hnplications <br />Approved donations for budgeted iten1s will result in a budget reduction. Items or Inonies for items or progrmns <br />not budgeted will not be purchased unless the council approves the donations. <br /> <br />Staff Rcconlnlcndation <br />Staff reco111111ends acceptance of these donations. <br /> <br />Council Action <br />Motion authorizing accepta11ce of these donations. <br />
