These gifts have been in the form of both materials and monies. <br />When staff is notified of a potential donation, they first make a determination of whether to <br />recommend acceptance based on the suitability of the item for the city. A request for <br />authorization is then forwarded to the City Council. <br /> <br />POLICY <br />The following is the City of Roseville's policy regarding the acceptance of donations: <br /> <br />II Minnesota Statute requires all donations to be officially accepted by the City <br />Council. <br />II The staff will not solicit donations. <br />II Donors will be informed that no conditions or promises of future favorable city <br />action on their behalf may be attached to the gift. <br />II Following Council acceptance, staff will send a letter of appreciation to each <br />donor. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS <br />Approved donations for budgeted items will result in a budget reduction. Items or monies <br />for items or programs not budgeted will not be purchased or conducted unless the Council <br />approves the donations. <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends acceptance of these donations. <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Motion authorizing acceptance of the following donations: <br /> <br />NAME <br />Gene Woehrle <br />O'dea Family <br />Donn Wiski <br /> <br />ITEM <br />Bench for Arboretum <br />Bench for Lexington Park <br />Tree for Arboretum <br /> <br />AMOUNT <br />$ 2,200.00 <br />$ 2,500.00 <br />$ 150.00 <br />
