<br />EXTRACT OF <br />CITY CO.UNCIL OF <br /> <br /> <br />lVlEETING O.F <br />CfTY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular n1eeting of the City Council of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Rar11sey, Minnesota, was held on the 4th day of March 2002, at 7:00 p.n1. <br /> <br />The following 111en1bers were present: <br />and the following vvere absent: . <br /> <br />Council Men1ber <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and n10ved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />SUPPORT FOR THE REUSE OF TCAAP PROPERTY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Twin Cities Arn1Y An1111unition Plant (TCAAP) encon1passes <br />approxin1ately 2300 acres in the northern 1/3 of the City of Arden Hills; and <br /> <br />\VHEREAS, TCAAP is currently owned and under the jurisdiction of the United States <br />Departn1ent of Defense; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the property has not supported significant Departn1ent of Defense operations <br />since 1972; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills has identified the property as a key redevelopn1ent <br />priority for the comn1unity, adjacent con1n1unities, and the region; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills is actively seeking the release of all land currently <br />not being considered for use by the Minnesota Arn1Y National Guard to be utilized consistent <br />with the Vento Reuse Plan adopted in 1996; and;. ".- <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a n1ap outlining the general area for potential acquisition is included as <br />"Attachn1ent A", and a copy of the 1996 Vento Reuse Plan is included as "Attachn1ent B", and <br /> <br />\VHEREAS, the I-35W Corridor Coalition Board of Directors has identified the site as a <br />priority requiring legislative action, intergoverm11ental cooperation, and support fron1 one or <br />1110re Coalition n1el11bers; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville has a concerted interest in the cooperative reuse of <br />TCAAP; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the release of land for developn1ent, recreational, regional purposes has the <br />potential to benefit the City of Roseville. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED thattheCity Council of Roseville, is supportive <br />of actions and policy statel11ents outlined in City of Arden Hills Resolution #02-14 to facilitate <br />the reuse of TCAAP. <br />
