<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 07/10/06 <br />Minutes - Page 12 <br /> <br />workshop to narrow their topics and priorities. <br /> <br />It was the consensus that the Commission needed to make <br />recommendations based on seeking to preserve, update and <br />acquire where possible; provide good metrics; and quantifY <br />the information provided to the City Council to allow them <br />to make informed decisions. <br /> <br />Chair Johnson thanked the City Council for the opportunity <br />to meet and expressed the Commission's willingness to <br />receive the City Council's input for tasking their workload <br />and welcomed individual Councilmembers to attend <br />Commission meetings as their schedules allowed. <br /> <br />Recess Recess <br />Mayor Klausing recessed the meeting at approximately 7:20 p.m. <br />and reconvened at 7:34 p.m. <br /> <br />l.c <br /> <br />Announcement of Visioning Steering Committee's <br />Appointments to Visioning Sub-Committees <br />Finance Director Chris Miller advised of the Community <br />Visioning Sub-Committees participants and topic areas <br />identified from the brainstorming sessions, as outlined in <br />the report dated July 10, 2006; attached hereto and made <br />a part thereof. Mr. Miller advised that several of the Sub- <br />Committees would begin meeting later this week and then <br />would develop their meeting schedules and select co- <br />chairs. <br /> <br />Appointments to <br />Visioning <br />Sub-Committees <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan addressed several questions <br />regarding the composition of the Sub-Committees, <br />specifically involvement of a representative of the St. <br />Paul Area Chamber of Commerce, and whether there <br />were any other members on the Sub-Committees who <br />were not Roseville residents. Councilmember Ihlan <br />opined that this was to be a community visioning process, <br />and questioned why non-residents were included. <br />Councilmember Ihlan sought additional time for <br />discussion rather than taking action at tonight's meeting. <br /> <br />Staff was directed to detennine if there were any non- <br />
