City Council Study Session - 08/21/06
Minutes - Page 3

A. Stewart Shwiff, 1233 Josephine Road
Mr. Shwiff expressed concerns with increasing traffic
counts and the neighborhood's concerns with today's and
future safety and growth, and their desire that County Road
C-2 be extended from Fairview to Victoria Avenues. Mr.
Schwiff asked the City Council to consider discussions
with Ramsey County to open up County Road C-2 as future
development continues in the area.

Mayor Klausing recognized Mr. Shwiffs comments and
concerns, noting that the discussion had been held with
other residents - both those for and against extending
County Road C-2. Mayor Klausing suggested that Mr.
Shwiff and interested neighbors meet with Public Works
Director Duane Schwartz for more detailed discussions,
and for an historical perspective and information related to
the roadway.

Councilmember Pust volunteered to meet with Mr. Shwiff
outside of the meeting, and encouraged Mr. Shwiff to
attend one of the more applicable community visioning
subcommittees, to alert them to neighborhood concerns.

Approve Agenda Approve Agenda
Mayor Klausing called for any comments or discussion on
tonight's Agenda.

Councilmember Ihlan noted that, related to Agenda Item 8.c
entitled, "Request of Councilmember Ihlan: Discuss Adopting
Living Wage Requirements for TIF and other Public Subsidy
Agreements," that she had invited several presenters to address
the City Council at that time.

2. Discussion on Redesigning the City's Website City's Website

Interim City Manager Chris Miller noted that, at the May 15,

2006 City Council meeting, the Council affirmed nine newly-

established goals for the upcoming year (200612007), with one of

those goals stated:
"Continue to research and develop new technologies that will enhance
programs and services by either reducing operating costs and/or
improving the level of service currently being provided."
