<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br />of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 11th day of September, <br />2006, at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Maschka, Ihlan, Kough, Pust and Klausing <br />and the following were absent: none. <br /> <br />Member Kough introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 10426 <br />Resolution in Recognition of Patriot's Day, 2006. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this day marks the fifth anniversary of the attacks on our nation on <br />September II, 2001, resulting in the loss of thousands of innocent lives; <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the victims and families who lost loved ones remains in the hearts and <br />prayers of Roseville residents, and our nation; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, we remember the courage and dedication of the hundreds of firefighters, <br />police officers, ambulance personnel, and scores of private citizens who, <br />in the process of showing us the true meaning of heroism, laid down their <br />lives; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States Congress has designated September II of each year as <br />"Patriot Day." <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Roseville pauses to remember <br />the impact this event has had on our city and our nation; to honor the <br />dedication of Roseville's firefighters and police officers, knowing their <br />willingness to serve our citizens with honor and bravery gives all of us <br />peace of mind; and to thank the men and women of our armed forces who <br />have given their lives, and those who continue to serve to keep our country <br />safe from terror. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption ofthe foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member <br />Maschka, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Maschka, Ihlan, Kough, Pust and Klausing <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: none. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
