<br />City Council Study Session - 09/18/06 <br />Minutes - Page 8 <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />Consider Setting a Public Hearing to Acknowledge the <br />Expenditure of Tax-exempt Funds by the Evangelical <br />Lutheran Good Samaritan Society <br />Interim City Manager Chris Miller reviewed the request to <br />establish a Public Hearing for October 9, 2006, for the purposes <br />of acknowledging the expenditure of tax-exempt funds by the <br />Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society. <br /> <br />Pust moved, Maschka seconded, establishing a Public Hearing <br />for October 9, 2006, for the purposes of acknowledging the <br />issuance of tax-exempt bonds for the benefit of the Evangelical <br />Lutheran Good Samaritan Society, including its Roseville <br />location at 1415 West County Road B. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Maschka; Ihlan; Kough; Pust; and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />Councilmember-Initiated Items from the Council Meeting of <br />September 11, 2006 (or past Council meetings) <br /> <br />6.a Request of Councilmember Pust: Reconsider the <br />Hiring of Fire Department Daytime Staffing Positions <br />Councilmember Pust reviewed her request for <br />reconsideration of hiring of full-time, daytime, Fire <br />Department staff positions; conversations held since that <br />time; and her intent to withdraw her request. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pust reviewed, for the public record, the <br />history of the original request, majority vote (of which <br />she was included), previous and pursuant discussions of <br />the "double dipping" situations related to retirement <br />funding through the Public Employees Retirement <br />Association (PERA) and/or the Fire Relief Association's <br />retirement fund.
