29.Permanent Sign: Any sign that is displayed or intended for display for an indefinite <br />period of time. <br />30.Pole Sign: A sign that is mounted at or near the top of a single or double pole. <br />31.Political sign: A sign announcing candidates seeking political office or issues to be voted <br />upon at a political election. <br />32.Portable Sign: See Mobile Sign <br />33.Projecting Sign: A wall sign that protrudes horizontally more than 1 foot from the wall to <br />which it is attached. <br />34.Pylon Sign: A freestanding sign supported by its own structure and not attached to any <br />building. <br />35.Readerboard Sign: A sign where the message is changeable with letters or numbers. <br />36.Real Estate Sign: Any sign pertaining to the sale, lease, or rental of land or buildings. <br />37 Roof sign: Any sign erected upon or projecting above the roofline of a structure to which <br />it is attached. For purposes of this code, the "roofline" shall be considered the top of the <br />cornice of a flat roof, the eave line of a pitched roof and the bottom edge of any sloping <br />section of a mansard roof. <br />38 Rotating sign: A rotating sign is a sign or display which rotates on its axis by mechanical <br />means. <br />37.Searchlight: A powerful light or lights equipped with a reflector to produce a bright beam <br />or beams. <br />38.Special Event Device: Any sign, searchlight, laser display, or other attention-getting <br />device used in conjunction with a special event. <br />39.Temporary Sign:Any sign designed or intended to be displayed for limited periods of <br />time. A sign that is designed or intended to be displayed for a short period of time and is <br />not permanently installed. This includes A or T - frame signs, sandwich, curb signs, and <br />balloons. <br />42 Traffic visibility triangle: The area created by drawing an imaginary line between points <br />30 feet back (residential) or 40 feet back (commercial) from where the curb lines of the <br />Found in 1011.06 <br />intersection quadrant meet. <br />40.Under Canopy Sign: Any sign hanging below a building canopy, awning, or building <br />overhang. <br />41.Unified Development: A development of three or more principal structures with common <br />characteristics as determined by the City. Common characteristics may include shared <br />access, similar architecture, single ownership, or history of site plan review approval. <br />42.Wall Sign: A sign constructed on a panel attached to a structure or raised letters or <br />symbols attached to a wall or combination thereof.
