Community Development Department considers necessary. These requirements may <br />be waived by the City Planner where they are not applicable. <br />Permit Review: All sign permits will be reviewed by the Community Development <br />Department to determine completeness. Should a permit be deficient in <br />appropriate/applicable items necessary to process the sign permit, an email and/or <br />letter will be composed to the applicant indicating the deficiencies of the permit. No <br />permit will be acted upon until all requested/required information is <br />submitted/received and/or reviewed. <br />2.Fees: Every applicant must pay a fee for each sign regulated by this Chapter before being <br />granted a permit. <br />a.The City Council will establish the permit fee by resolution. <br />b.A double fee will be charged if a sign is erected without first obtaining a permit <br />for such sign. <br />4.Revocation of Permit: The Community Development Department is hereby authorized to <br />revoke a sign permit upon failure of the holder thereof to comply with any provision of <br />this Chapter. Any party aggrieved by such revocation may appeal the action to the Board <br />of Adjustment and Appeals within 10 days after the revocation. <br />5.Expiration of Permit: A permit expires if the sign is not erected within 180 days after <br />issuance and no permit fees or inspection fees for such sign will be refunded. <br />6.Inspection: Sign installations for which a permit is required may be subject to inspection <br />by the Community Development Department to ensure that such signs are erected <br />according to the approved permit. <br />The sub-sections below have been relocated (1010.03, 07, 08, 09, and 11), modified, <br />and/or eliminated <br />3.Temporary Signs: a. Permit Required: Permits for temporary signs, grand <br />opening signs, special event signage and other attention getting devices may be issued <br />for searchlights and/or balloons not exceeding two feet in the largest dimension, tents, <br />laser light shows and similar attention getting devices may be issued. Temporary signs <br />shall be comprised/constructed of durable all-weather materials (such as but not limited <br />to plywood, coreaplast (plastic foam-core) alumacore, and polycarbonate (Lexan) <br />mounted to the building wall or be freestanding. <br />b. Duration: During any calendar year, temporary signs, grand opening signs, special <br />event signs, and other attention getting devices may be in place no more than 20 days, <br />which duration may be broken into multiple events/days not exceeding a total of 20-days <br />per calendar year <br />c. Size: The surface area of any temporary sign shall not exceed 32 square feet. This <br />area shall be in addition to permanent, window or other signage allowed elsewhere in <br />this Chapter. <br />d. Location: Freestanding temporary signs shall be set back a minimum of 15 feet from a <br />property line. <br />B.Not Required: A permit is not required for the following signs: <br />1.One noncommercial sign no larger than 6 square feet and no higher than 6 feet tall may <br />be displayed on any lot in all zoning districts without obtaining a permit. <br />PROJ0013_SignRegulations_RPCA_040412 <br /> <br />
