Councilmember Pust thanked the Variance Board for discussion on the appeal public notice concerns, and looked forward to their recommendation to the City Council. Mike Radovich, 1820 Dale Court (2 houses south of property under question) For the record, an undated letter was provided by Mr. Radovich from Tim Garvin, 1812 Dale Court, expressing concerns regarding variance request. Mr. Radovich encouraged the City Council to look at lot size definitions in the near future and firm up practices to avoid this issue continually coming before the City Council and contested by existing neighborhoods. Mr. Radovich had an extensive list of concerns related to the request; clarification of the actual requested variance (15'); location of his property and apparent incorrect depiction of existing property setbacks; operation of an adjacent group home for handicapped adults and ensuing parking issues and public safety concerns; if the property would be sold for rental purposes; and the speculative nature of the request without a specific home design available. Mr. Radovich expressed concern that Mr. Iliff appeared to be threatening an oddly-shaped structure on the property unless his variance was approved; and his past assurances that a standard structure could be located on the property. Mr. Iliffresponded that his intent was not to threaten anyone, but to build a home consistent with what the neighborhood wanted. Mayor Klausing closed the Public Hearing at 8:34 p.rn.
