<br />July 2002 Roseville City Council Meeting <br /> <br />"I move that effective immediately 1 elected officials who choose to seek <br />private outside legal council to represent themselves on city related matters <br />shall be fully and immediately reimbursed. <br />addition, the City Attorney shall draft ordinance <br />guarantee the reimbursement legal fees to eJected officials who choose <br />to seek private legal council in situations which may be related to their <br />service as elected officials, The draft ordinance will specify that the <br />maximum criminal penalties shall be applied to any employee or elected <br />official who interferes with the reimbursement process. The ordinance shail <br />also specify that the elected official seeking reimbursement shall have <br />standing, and be fully reimbursed for any legal action they may need to <br />take against any employee or elected official in the enforcement this <br />ordinance. <br />In addition, the draft ordinance shall direct that legal fees be fully <br />reimbursed for any elected official '1Jho takes legal action against the city <br />Public Information Officer for failure to provide public information to an <br />elected official, or where the public information is provided in a <br />discriminatory manner. <br />First reading will be held on July 22, and final reading on July 29." <br /> <br />
