<br />Regular City Council Minutes -10/21/02 <br />Page 11 <br /> <br />Minnesota Manufacturers and Technology Week Minnesota <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn acknowledged a Mayoral Proclamation Manufacturers <br />declaring the week of October 21 - 25, 2002 as And Technology <br />"Manufacturers' Week" in the City of Roseville. Week <br /> <br />C. Proclamation Declaring November 2002 American <br />Indian Heritage Month <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn acknowledged a Mayoral Proclamation <br />declaring the month of November 2002 as "American <br />Indian Heritage Month." <br /> <br />VI. <br /> <br />Hearings <br /> <br />A. Public Hearing to Consider the Issuance of Tax- <br />Exempt Bonds for Northwestern College <br />Kough moved, Schroeder seconded, approval of the <br />Issuance and Sale of up to $10,000,000 bonds for <br />Northwestern College. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn acknowledged Northwestern College <br />representatives present, including Dr. Alan Cureton, <br />President; Mr. Doug Schroeder, Vice President for <br />Business & Finance; and Attorney Jeffrey Lewis of the <br />firm of Ice Miller, legal Counsel for the Bond Issue <br />representing Northwestern College. <br /> <br />Finance Director Chris Miller summarized and reviewed <br />the request to-date for the City's consideration of being a <br />conduit for tax exempt financing as requested by <br />Northwestern College; and deferred to the City's Bond <br />Counsel, Jenny Grain of Briggs & Morgan; and College <br />representatives for their comments as requested by Mayor <br />Kysylyczyn and Councilmembers. <br /> <br />Dr. Cureton stated that the purpose of the majority of bond <br />funds was to take the opportunity to refinance several of <br />the College's residence halls and facilities; with the <br />balance of funds used to complete the Mel Johnson Media <br />Center (KTIS radio) as it related to administrative offices <br />for the college within the building.
