<br />City Council Regular Meeting - 10/23/06 <br />Miuutes - Page 8 <br /> <br />Maschka moved, Pust seconded, approval of the following <br />claims and payments as presented. <br /> <br />ACH Payments $490,547.96 <br />45161-45344 525,449.16 <br />Total $1,015,997.12 <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Kough; Maschka; Ihlan; Pust and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />3.h <br /> <br />Authorize Changes to the Eureka Solid Waste Recycling <br />Services Contract <br />Councilmember Kough opined his lack of support for <br />weekly collection, as well as similar comments he'd <br />received from other elderly Roseville residents, who are <br />completely satisfied with pick up every-other week. <br />Council member Kough spoke to the increase in fees for <br />residents, and expressed preference that any profits from the <br />revenue-sharing be returned to residents or rates reduced. <br /> <br />Mr. Miller referenced previous Council discussion at the <br />September 18 and October 16, 2006 Council meetings; <br />presentations by staff and representatives of Eureka <br />Recycling; and Council-majority approval of expanding <br />services for weekly collection, without immediate cost to <br />residents and cost of additional services to be taken from <br />revenue sharing funds. Mr. Miller noted that residents <br />would pay the same fee in 2007 as they were paying in <br />2006. <br /> <br />Klausing moved, Pust seconded, approval of an amendment <br />to the existing contract between the City of Roseville and <br />Eureka Recycling, switching to weekly collection per the <br />terms of the recycling contract; and to add aseptic and gable <br />top packaging to the list of materials collected, at a cost not <br />to exceed $0.05 per household per month. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan spoke in support of the motion, based <br />on the additional information provided by staff and Eureka <br />at previous meetings; opining that it was a good service and <br /> <br />Changes to the <br />Eureka Solid Waste <br />Recycling Services <br />Contract <br />
