- Eliminate blighted areas and facilitate their redevelop- <br />ment, particularly focusing on I-35W and Twin Lakes. <br />- Support nonprofit organizations such as arts, churches, <br />etc., as positive contributors to the community life. <br />Grow the Tax Base <br />. Double tax capacity for commercial and industrial property <br />based on the attractive tax contribution of such praperty. <br />. Foster a strong and independent business co�munity to <br />facilitate the maintenance, growth, and enhancement of the <br />City's residential tax base. <br />. Redevelop blighted areas, including 35W and Twin Lakes, to <br />facilitate the creation of an enhanced tax base. <br />. Facilitate the development of office and light industrial <br />with respect to I-35W and Highway 36. <br />. Maintain the appropriate funding levels ta encourage <br />redevelopment activities. <br />. Focus on priarity business that the City wishes ta attract <br />through marketing the community. <br />. Farm. a venture capital group and identify .local <br />entrepreneurs. <br />. Attract corporate decision makers to help foster a strong <br />Chamber of Commerce. <br />. Continue and expand the Chamber/City Business Visitation <br />and Retentian Program to retain_and attract new business <br />while Ieveraging the City's All Star City designation. <br />. Aggressively recruit major companies to the City. <br />. Wark to influence and lobby State Fiscal Policy regarding <br />the cost of doing business. <br />. Maxintize the community's return on investment regarding <br />attractions for tourist industry; i.e. the John Rose <br />Minnesota Oval and retail centers. <br />. Seek partnerships with the private sector to facilitate the <br />expansion af local companies. <br />. Assist local businesses considering a national or inter- <br />national initiative as well as international companies <br />interested in a Roseville location. � <br />� <br />
