The group discussed the �ontent of a vision <br />statement. The discussion included a review of Vernon <br />Eidman's memo on components of a mission statement, <br />concluding that it was important to focus on nwhat, how and <br />for whom". An example was suggested, using the group <br />headings as a lead: "what° - A balance placed to live and <br />work and a safe environment, "how" - through job creation, <br />growing the tax base and efficient government, "for wham"- <br />the people and organizations that live, work, play and <br />participate in the City of Roseville. Subsequently, nine <br />potential vision statements were developed, see attached. <br />6. stab sh a end . <br />Roberts suggested a process for the remaininq meetings which <br />was stated as fo2iows: <br />a. November 12 - Complete missian statement and proceed to <br />deve3op strategies. <br />b. Noventber 19 - Complete strategy development, as well <br />as discu�s issues and measurements to ascertain <br />whether the City is meeting the respective strategies. <br />c. December 3, 1992 - Draft initial report. <br />d. December 10, 1992 - Review and finalize report. <br />The group agreed to the 6chedule with an option of an <br />additional meeting the week of November 23. <br />The specific agenda for the next meeting will include: <br />Call to Order <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Summary of the Vista Chairpersons' meeting.
