As stated previously, the RDF inaterial praduced at Newport is to <br />be burned at the NSP Red Wing and Wilmarth (Mankato) plants. <br />These twa plants have Minnesota Pollution Control Agency permits <br />to burn RDF and coal. Monitoring of air emmissions and ash <br />concentrations of heavy metals will be done. It is anticipated <br />that air emmissions of dioxin (which occurs at 350 to 750 degrees <br />Fahrenheit) will be destroyed by the average boiier temperature <br />of 2,Q00 degrees Fahrenheit. Nonhazardous bottom ash will be <br />landfilled at the City of Red Wing Municipal Landtill.
