2
Linebarger should know what he's talking about. He was a member
of the Roseville Growth Committee in 1962, a group charged with
the same mission as Vista 2000. "Much of what we see here today--
the great parks and recreation areas, the topnotch police and fire
services, the road, water and sewer improvements--all were seeded
through the work of that committee," said Linebarger.
"When this City was young, people becaiue invQlved in the issues
because they saw a direct impact on their lives," said Mayor
Johnson, "building new schools for their children, setting aside
vacant land for parks and recreation areas, planning roads and
ather infrastructure improvements to meet the needs of a growing
community. Today, with most of those challenges met, we must again
come together as a community and plan how we will deal wth the
new challenges of the 21st Century," he said.
Residents can attend either of the two forums which will be held
from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. on July 29 and 30 at Northwestern College,
3003 Snelling avenue, in Roseville. To help forum planners prepare
far possibly large turnouts, those wishing to participate in the
forums are being encouraged to preregister by calling the Vista
2000 Hotline at 490-2205.
* *  * * * *  * *
