Community Dialogue in Roseville <br />Sample Script to Invite Community Partners: <br />The Roseville Human Rights Commission is planning a community dialogue to increase <br />awareness of how people of all racia] and cultural backgrounds experience life in our <br />commuzuty. Our goal is to bring together people who live, work, attend school and/or <br />worship in Roseville to engage in a dialogue that bridges differences and. builds greater <br />understanding across cultures in order to promoie inEergroup harmony, cooperation and <br />unity in our community. We will use the award-winning Cultural Complementarity <br />Model of thc United Way as a frarnework. <br />We are sceking partners from business, educatian a.nd nonprofits to join with us in <br />planning and carrying out the dialogue. As a member of the Roseville Human Rights <br />Commission, I invite you and your organization to join us as a spot�sor. <br />The cornmunity dialoguc wi11 be on Tuesday, October 14, beginning at 6:30 p.rn. at the <br />Roseville Skating Cenier. <br />We are having a planning session on Tuesday, Augusi 12 at 3:00 p.m. at Roseville City <br />Hall. We would like you io attend the mecting. We will answer any questions you may <br />have and hopcfully canvince you that this is a worthwhile for your organization to join us <br />in your efforts. <br />As a sponsor, you would agree to: <br />• Send a representative to a planning session on August 12. <br />• Recruit 8-10 people associated with your organization from diverse ethnic and <br />cultural backgrounds who would be willing to participaie in a diversity dialogue <br />based on their experience or exposure to different cuitures and ethnic groups. <br />• Provide one or more of the following types of support: <br />o Contribution of $100 or more to cover costs of the event, or <br />o Donate in-kind support such as printing materials, publicity, or food, or <br />o Volunteer to help set-up and clean-up or sma11 group facilitation. <br />
