r .,� . <br />� ; _ � r���w � r� ., � <br />�. <br />Human Rights Commission <br />Meeting Minutes, December 9, 2003 <br />Present: Theltna McKenzie, Chair; Steve Zom, Vice-Chair, Phillip Crump, Janet Delmore, Steve <br />Smith, Karen Vnuk, Larry Voeller, Howard Wagner <br />Absent: Mark Chapin, Jacqueline LeMay <br />Staff: Carolyn Curti <br />Guest: Mayor John ICysylyczyn <br />"I"helma McKer�zie called the rneeting to order at 7:15 p.m. in the City Council Chambers af <br />Roseville City Hall. <br />Approve Minutes <br />Phillip Crump moved approval of the minutes and Steve Zorn seconded. The �ninutes werc <br />approved unanimously. <br />Welcome New Com�nissioner <br />Chair Thelma McKenrie welcomed Janet Delmore, the newesi member to the Commission. <br />Essay Coutest <br />Carolyn Curti distributcd the top 28 essays to the Cammissioners. Commissioners are to rcad <br />and score all essays and then email or fax their scores to City of Roseville Office Assistant Cindy <br />Anderson by January 9_ At the January meeting Commissioners will review the top choices and <br />select the number of essays to receive honorable mentions. Winners and those who receive <br />honorable mention and their teachers will be invited to a February City Council meeting. <br />HoIid�y Service Project <br />Steve Smith reminded Cornmissionezs of the Holiday Party for Seniors on December 12 at <br />Fairview Cornmunity Center. Commissioners are encouraged to volunteer at the event as part of <br />the Human Rights Commission efforts to increase the Commission's visibility in the community. <br />Martin Luther King - I Have a Dream Presentation <br />Commissioners discussed the prcparations including bookmarks, who to invite, publicity cfforts <br />and the schedule for the Fcbruary 21 evenE. The Commission wilI create bookmarks with <br />
