Goal Setting — May 2003 <br />Commissioners identified four activities that the Human Rights Commission will <br />continue to do and were not included in the goal selection process. Those are: <br />• Essay Contest <br />• Participate in Rose Parade <br />• Complete Human Rights Comznission (HRC) Brochure <br />• Place Commemorative Proclamations on the HRC Webpage <br />Top goals for the Commission to work on in the next yea.r. <br />• Annually meet with superintendent of schools to ciiscuss human rights issues <br />• Include Human Rights messages on Charu�el 16, Wrap, employee newsletter and <br />News Fax <br />• Welcome/Information Packet foz New Teachers <br />• Submit Grant Applications <br />• Hire Actor for MLK Speech <br />• Improve HRC Website — including Developing Rcsource Library <br />• Foster Relationships with other Human Rights Organizations — including <br />Developing Speakers Bureau <br />� Classroom Presentations on Human Rights Issues including Distributing Small <br />Gift to Roseville Schools <br />Backburner gaals <br />r As a Commission volunteer to support a community group around the holidays <br />• Maintain informal relationship with Sister City Program <br />Other ideas to consider in fi.iture years. <br />2- 3 votes <br />• Video Stores — Commemorative Movies <br />+ Create Chiidren's Artwork Calendar <br />• Update and Expand Human Rights Network <br />• Joint School Sponsorship of Event or Proclamatian <br />• Create list of diversity trainers <br />• Community representative speak to City Council about group during <br />comrnemorative inonth <br />0--1 vote <br />• Leadership h-aining for com�nission members <br />• Invite scholars for public presentations <br />• Community Forum on Human Rights issues <br />• Work with Library to create displays for commemorative months <br />• Assist state Department oiHuman Rights to handle intakes <br />• Czeate in�ormation packet for other communi#ies starting Human Rights <br />Commissians <br />
