I'm holding back on presenting #he petitioner's recommendations
until a la#er date.
1. Petition for a Home Rule Charter Commission. A complete copy for each cornmission
member, and one extra copy.
2. A corrected listing of Metro Area Population broken down by County by City. In the one in
the book, I missed Fridley as being a charter city, and had them as a part of the "A" Statutory
for Anoka Caunty.
3. A copy of the article appearing in the Roseville Review about the home-rule charter (9/14/99)
which included some cornments of Pat 7ohnson and Joy Tiemey, the mayor of Plymouth, whose
city adopted a home rule charter in 1992. This could be just a hand-out it we don't have time io
discuss.
4. A copy of two letters to the editor in the Focus News about the charter. Dan Roe has some
requests of us (second paragraph) which I feel we should respond to. If no time , at least to be
handed out for later reading.
5. My letter in response to your zequest for suggestions for future agenda items.
I still haven'# heard from Joy Tierney. My wife's brother was killed in a tragic auto accideni,
and we have been tied up. I'll try ta reach Mayor Tierney again this week. I'm hoping you have
been able to convince the City to cable cast our meetings.
Sincerely,
(
c
