Roseville 5ister City Association Minutes July 7, 2004 Present: James and Joyce Boar.dson, Yurido Farmer, Lilian Dargis, Mary �eyers, Jan Schult�e, Tom and Virginia Turba. Minutes: 1. Recent Activities: Parade - Went well. Much to ail's surprise, the Sansei Yonsei Kai Japan- ese Dace Group was placed right behind us. We invited Chem to join us for treats after the parade, leaving the ice cream and almost all ot the cookies and bar5 to 6e used �p. Grant monies: The Shinmachi group did receive a$2,500 grant from the RosevilZe Community Fund, thanks to the hard work of Yuriko and Lilian_ Tuesday, Yuriko and Joyce made out the checks to each participant gozng to Japan this year, with $500 for chaperones and $375 to each student. The students will be required to do a presentation of some type to show what they learn as a requirement of Che grant. Lilian and Yuriko are developing several ideas for the students to choose from. City Hall display: Due ta the remodelin�, we had to remnve our display items at City Ha11. Tom has done this and brought the items from .Japan. Mary will store these at her home. Turba's are storing the Costa Rican items. 2. Treasurer`s report: Joyce presented the current fznancial status. she was not able Co figure out how much is in the general fund vs. each group. Hopefully, s�e wi�l be able to have the information for our next meeting. 3. 5hinmachi: Two adults and 4 students will be leaving for Japan on July 17. The potJuck picnic is still planned for August 8 to meet the host families and Japanese students (arriveing Aug. 7), along wzth 5t Paul-Nagasaki Si.ster City and the ahove Dance Group. Yurzko and Lilian have divided up khe al�habete as to which group should bring what type of dish to pass, etc. At 6:30, the Japanes groups will be part of the Roseville Sunday Summer Fun activity. 4. Information Ikems: Tom hrought a booklet showing the list of all the Internat�on Countries and US states with their corresponding Cities/Countries. S.
