�*The committee is specifically focusing an events for the SOt'' Anniversary from <br />May to Octo�er. The theme and logo will be used beginning Janusry '98. Other <br />events may be {and are encouraged to) scheduled by organizations during the other <br />manths. <br />January to April, 1998 will be used for PR for the summer events. <br />The committee voted on a theme and logo: <br />Theme: Celebrating 50 years of Roseville <br />Logo: #6, 2 sma11 roses (for shirts with heart crest and buttons) <br />Tia will present color variations of the logo selected at next meeting since the <br />committee decided that gold should be a color in the design, as wcll as other <br />colors. <br />Frances Anderson proposed that.the Nature Center have a Natural Arts Display as part of <br />the celebration. Betty Wolfangle asked to include the Wildflower and Bird Clubs as a <br />part of the display. Frances Anderson will present more information at next meeting. <br />The "Salute to Industry" was discussed, Frank Rog, Chair. The committee held off <br />setting a date for the event until thc chair was present. This cvent is meant to recognize <br />the businesses in our community. Committee members suggested coupons or sales by the <br />area businesses. This event will be discussed af the next meeting. <br />The committee discussed video taping the storics of the Pioneers of Rosevillc or anyone <br />who signed the original charter. There are about 34 families and several peoplc still living <br />in the community. Joan G. and Betty W. will work on this project. Betty W. brought up <br />how many people are intimidated by the camera so the project may be difficult but it <br />would be nice to have the people and their stories on video. <br />Finance Committee Report: Tom Johnson, Chair. He did not have too much to report <br />since we are just starting. T'he various committees will need to develop a budget and <br />submit the budget to the cammittce. Committee members discussed having underwriters <br />for many of the events and suggestion,s tivere giverz o£ O:d Dutch, Pion�cr Press, Local <br />Banks, and Corporations. Ken Hansen will provide the committee with the parade costs. <br />Coznmittee mennbers also asked about getting a 501 C3 tax exemption form from the IRS <br />so that we can accept charitable contributions. New members were added to the Finance <br />Committee: Mary and Denny Harris and Sheila Prok. <br />Publicity Committee Report: Pat 3ohnson read a letter written by Ray Barton. He <br />expressed interest in being the chair of the committee. The committee voted for him to be <br />the chair. <br />The Metropolitan Council has expressed interest in being involved in our celebration. Pat <br />Johnson will ma%e the call. <br />
