Minutes <br />SOth Anniveraary Committee <br />Augnst 7, 1997 <br />Attending: <br />Don Anderson, Frances Anderson, Rose Diestler, Stefan Endgmayer, 3oan Crerten, Deb Haii, Ken Hanson, Lorraine <br />Hanson, Dcnny Harris, Mary Harris, Pat ]ahnson, Jane LaFroth, Margaret Kehr, George Krinkc, Barb Mastel, Ruth <br />Musbach, Steve North, Greg Peterson, 5heila Prok, Frank Rog, Tia Rollefson, Cliff Smith, Kathy Welsch, Betty <br />Wolfangle, Don Zibell <br />The meeting was callcd to ordcr at 7:10 P.M. by Pat Johnson. <br />The minutes from the last meeting were reviewed and approved. <br />Deb Hall agreed to be secretary for the 50th Anniversary Committee. <br />Birthday Party in Ceniral Park <br />The Roseville Community Band wiil piay at the birthday party. Ice cream being served is a possibility. Lorraine Hanson <br />had no further information at this time. If you have any suggestions cali Lorraine. <br />4th of July Celebratian <br />Alice Marks is working on the July 4th Celebration. She will try and get a jazz band for the event. <br />Taste of Roseville and Valuntcer Appreciatian <br />Bob Mattson wiIi be askcd to handle the food poRion_ A co-chair is needed to handle the volunteer appreciation part. <br />It was decided to develop an application or set criteria for recognition of long-term Roseville residents. A committee is <br />farming io handle thc dctails. <br />A list of volunteers frosn the 40th Anniversary Celebration is available. <br />Street Dance at the Oval <br />The committee voted to move the dance from Fnday, September 18th to Saturday, Septemt�er 19th. <br />School District G21 had no conflicts with ihe date for the dance. <br />Tom Kough, Denny and Mary Harris will work on the s[reet dance_ There wiIl be three different bands playing. One of <br />the bands will be a rock band for the young people. <br />A letter will be sent to the City Counci� requesting that the dance go until 11:00 P.M. <br />Alternative sites for the dance were discussed in case of rain. The Roseville Area High School gym, the Ramsey County <br />Library were two alternatives mentioned. This will be discussed furiher at a later date. <br />T�e question oC obtaining a license to serve alcohol was raised. After a brief discussion it was voted on by the <br />committee not to serve alcohol becanse of yaung people being present at the dance. <br />Other ideas were food vendors, shopping bags with inserts, a flyover, and selling roses. <br />�Oth Anniversay Dinner <br />The committee has not met_ <br />Salute to Business and Industry <br />Frank Rog gave presented various options.
