Regular City Council Meeting
Monday, February 12, 2007

students for communication-related education. Ms. Wilson advised
that the application deadline was mid-April, and that more informa-
tion was available on the website at CTV15.org.

2.b IDS Climb for a Cure
Councilmember Roe recognized Roseville Firefighters who partici-
pated in the recent "IDS Climb for a Cure," by climbing all fifty-one
stories of the IDS building - in full turnout gear - and for their sup-
port of this worthy cause and their ongoing work for various charities.

2.c Victory Salute Ceremony, 147 Finance Support Group, Minne-
sota National Guard
Mayor Klausing announced that he had been privileged to recently at-
tend a very memorable and moving Victory Salute Ceremony for the
Minnesota National Guard's 147th Finance Support Group, recently
returned from Iraq. Mayor Klausing advised that, in future, he would
provide information of such events to the City Council and staff for
posting as a Special Council meeting in case other Councilmembers
were able to attend and a quorum was present at such an event.

2.d Minnesota Block Exercise
Mayor Klausing mentioned his attendance at a Regional Conference
of Mayors and a presentation on the Metropolitan Housing Corridor's
Minnesota Block Exercise and the possible merits of such a program
(i.e., early phases of Twin Lakes redevelopment) in providing citizens
with an opportunity to measure costs for different types of housing
with areas of interest to achieve some balance for redevelopment pro-
jects. Mayor Klausing noted that grants were available, and deferred
to Community Development Director John Stark; asking that he look
into the program, and provide additional information to the City
Council at a future date, in an effort to encourage citizen involvement
and participation in redevelopment projects.

2.e Residential Lot Split Study Task Force
Councilmember Ihlan announced that there was still time for inter-
ested citizens to apply (before the February 20 deadline) to participate
in the Moratorium Study and encouraged those interested to contact
staff.
