City of Roseville, Minnesota <br />2002 Budget <br />PARKMAINTENANCE <br />(Formerly in the Recreation Fund) <br />Fund: Park Maintenance <br />Account Number: 204 - 043.000 <br />Organizational Accountability: Parks and Recreation Director <br />DEPARTMENTAL DESCRIPTION <br />Park Maintenance's mission is to provide safe, inviting, <br />attractive, useable, and well- maintained public parks for the <br />enjoyment of all residents. New facilities and parkland, which <br />have been added in recent years, will be maintained by the use <br />of resources from the Tax Increment Infrastructure Fund (See <br />Fiscal Policies - Replacement Funds). <br />In an effort to be able to allow the City Council and citizens to <br />focus more on various aspects of Parks and Recreation a park <br />maintenance fund has been established in 2002. <br />CITY RESOURCE INPUTS <br />* A 1.0 FTE was reclassified from Activity Center <br />EXPECTED CITY OUTCOMES <br />Strategic Outcomes: <br />• Public park facilities preserved for future users <br />• Parks and related facilities enhance the <br />community's quality of life t143 <br />Beautification of the city with healthy trees <br />IV -35 <br />2002 STxATEGIC WORK <br />PLAN <br />Continued to work toward improved <br />park maintenance <br />Maintain current level of diseased <br />tree and forestry inspection <br />Improve community forestation by <br />planting 30 trees <br />2000 ACHIEVEMENTS <br />Ai Implemented stronger park <br />maintenance <br />Citizen Benefit /Impact: <br />•:� Each park is maintained in accordance <br />with its designated use <br />Unsafe structures and conditions will <br />continue to be eliminated <br />Access for residents to public park <br />facilities will be enhanced <br />Removal of all disease trees <br />discovered during the year <br />A reduction in diseased trees because <br />of active removal <br />
