City of Roseville, Minnesota <br />2002 Budget <br />HOUSING <br />Fund: Housing <br />Account Number: 574 - 074.000 <br />Organizational Accountability: Community Development Director <br />DEPARTMENTAL DESCRIPTION <br />The Housing Fund provides various levels of incentives and <br />technical expertise to Roseville residents to successfully <br />upgrade and maintain the community's housing. There have <br />been several studies, evaluations, and demonstration grants <br />over the past several years by the City. The results of these <br />beginnings have been very successful. In 2001, the City will <br />continue to provide a wide variety of financial and technical <br />assistance for the benefit of all Roseville citizens. <br />CITY RESOURCE INPUTS <br />EXPECTED CITY OUTCOMES <br />Strategic Outcomes: <br />Housing values and the physical <br />well -being of the community will be <br />preserved and enhanced through <br />the implementation of a sound vloi4l <br />housing improvement program <br />Partnerships utilized with other <br />organizations to maximize invested <br />dollars <br />IV -59 <br />2002 STxATEGIC WORK <br />PLAN <br />Fund a Resource Center and the <br />Home & Garden Fair <br />Provide funding for the rehab or <br />rebuilding of deteriorating homes <br />and multi - family projects <br />Supply assistance for the <br />development of affordable senior <br />housing projects, senior programs, <br />and first -time homebuyer programs <br />Work toward a long -term funding <br />base with community business and <br />foundation dollars <br />2000 ACHIEVEMENTS <br />Completed the building of a <br />new home as part of a <br />replacement program <br />it Completed two rambler re- designs <br />and approved a third <br />it Began implementation of a <br />housing resource center <br />it Introduced two new housing <br />renovation - financing tools. <br />Citizen Benefit /Impact: <br />One stop citizen access to financial <br />and technical assistance for housing <br />improvements <br />Stabilized property values of the <br />community's housing through proper <br />application of these programs <br />An increased neighborhood pride and <br />appeal in homeownership <br />
