City of Roseville — 2006 Budget <br />❑ Work with rental property owners to encourage continuous improvements that contribute to the <br />quality living environment of its tenants and the sustainability of mixed -use neighborhoods. <br />Strengthen tenant/landlord relationships and upkeep of rental properties through education, <br />inspections, permits, and rehabilitation loan programs. <br />❑ Support housing programs that fund housing renovations and improvements for single family <br />homes with grants and low or deferred interest rate loans. <br />❑ Create an education environment that promotes quality housing renovation and housing assistance <br />through the Home &Garden show and technical assistance. <br />❑ Adopt a housing preservation code in coordination with other communities along the I -35W <br />Corridor. <br />❑ Work with the Police Department Neighborhood Watch Program to provide information about <br />Roseville's residential inspection and code enforcement program and provide rehabilitation <br />information at neighborhood meetings. <br />❑ Support affordable senior housing through the use of tax increment financing, Ramsey County <br />Home Funds, HUD, Minnesota Housing Finance programs, and Federal Home Loan Bank dollars. <br />❑ Work with developers to utilize tax credit programs and revenue bonds to reduce the cost of <br />financing for affordable housing. <br />❑ Annually review and revise Roseville's Livable Communities Action Plan. <br />❑ When appropriate, submit applications for Livable Communities Demonstration Account grants <br />where the proposed projects provide a mix of housing choices. <br />133 <br />
