Jy.
Update
The segment of West Snelling Drive between
Roselawn Ave and County Road B is scheduled for
pavement rehabilitation this summer. The City's
Contractor, Valley Paving, has started curb work on
this segment of road.
The first part of this project is to remove and
replace curb that is deteriorated or sunken. Curbs
scheduled for removal have been marked. This
work will be done in the next couple of weeks.
The next step is pavement rehabilitation. Because
of the amount of traffic on this road, the contractor
will be performing the pavement work in the
evenings and after 10pm. This work is scheduled
sometime after June 24. The work will take three
nights. The following activities will each be
executed on a separate night.
• Mill off 2.5 inches of the pavement surface.
• Pave one layer of bituminous.
• Apply new paint stripes on the street.
The work is anticipated to be complete in July. The
Contractor's schedule is available on the project
webpage. We meet with the contractor weekly and
update this schedule if it changes. This schedule is
weather dependent.
The Contractor will try to maintain access during
construction. If you have special access needs,
please contact us to let us know.
Safety
Your assistance in keeping the work zone safe is
important. The noise and dust created by
construction traffic make it difficult for workers to
watch onlookers. Heavy equipment operators must
concentrate on the job at hand and may not notice
children playing near or behind equipment.
Please remind children to stay clear of the
construction area and equipment both during
working and non - working hours.
2012 Pavement
Management Project
Curb and Gutter
If there are curb and gutter repairs at your driveway
and /or concrete replacement on your driveway,
there will be a five -day period to harden or "cure"
the concrete. During that time, you will be able to
park in the street in front of your property.
Private Systems/ Gardens
Underground sprinklers, electrical for lights,
perennial gardens, or invisible fences installed
within 10 or 15 feet of the curb marked for removal,
need to be removed from the right of way.
Removal and reinstallation of these items is the
responsibility of the property owner. We
recommend that you mark with paint or flags the
location of underground wires or sprinklers
immediately.
If you are not sure if your system is in the way,
please call Dean Findell.
If you have a private system adjacent to curb
marked for removal, the system should be removed
from the city right- of- way. If you cannot meet this
schedule, please contact us.
If these items are not removed, the contractor will
damage them during construction.
Check for construction updates at: www.citvofroseville.com /2012PMP
