Specific assignments <br />'? Monitoring <br />'? Identification of needed resources <br />'? Mechanism for updating <br />Schedule: <br />'? Annual updates <br />'? Major re-do; <br />'? Comprehensive Plan <br /> <br />Mr. Keel noted that the visioning document was a living document; and opined <br />that the City had perhaps waited too long to update the Vista 2000 visioning <br />document; and suggested that a mechanism be built into this visioning process to <br />update it on a more regular basis. Steering Committee members suggested perhaps <br />an annual update on the anniversary of this presentation. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pust suggested that perhaps by continuing the Steering Commit- <br />tee, the City Council could continue to achieve community participation and input. <br />Councilmember Pust opined that there was a richness to this process, with so many <br />people providing their input; and further opined that she didn't want to wait an- <br />other 15 years to initiate another process. Councilmember Pust sought input on <br />how to keep the process going in an authentic way to continue to receive input <br />from the community, not just the City Council. <br /> <br />Ms. Edstrom noted that on a more critical and broader issue, the Steering Commit- <br />tee was aware that the community wanted to be involved, but sometimes they just <br />didn't know how to do so. Ms. Edstrom noted that there were many good ideas out <br />there, but citizens didn't know where to go with them. Ms. Edstrom concurred <br />with Councilmember Pust's observation that the process would only continue to be <br />effective if the ideas came from the community on up, rather than from the City <br />Council on down. Ms. Edstrom suggested that the Council may need to review <br />ways to make involvement less intimidating, and find creative ways to gather in- <br />put, outside of the City Council Chambers, perhaps in schools and churches or <br />other regular gathering areas and groups. <br /> <br />Mr. Majerus noted that, while people thought the Vista 2000 work was excellent <br />and they had great expectations, the hard part was in following through; and an en- <br />
