Resolution -Resolution of Appreciation for Superintendent Jan <br />Witthuhn's Distinguished Service to Mounds View School District <br />Mayor Klausing read a resolution of appreciation for Superintendent <br />Jan Witthuhn's Distinguished Service to Mounds View School Dis- <br />trict. On behalf of the City Council, staff and the community, Mayor <br />Klausing thanked Dr. Witthuhn and wished her well in her retirement. <br />Pust moved, Ihlan seconded, adoption of Resolution No. 10501 enti- <br />tled, "Resolution of Appreciation for Superintendent Jan Witthuhn's <br />Distinguished Service to Mounds View School District ". <br />Councilmember Kough wished the incoming Superintendent, Dan <br />Hoverman well in his new position as Mounds View School District <br />Superintendent. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Roe; Kough; Ihlan; Pust and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />b. Resolution -Resolution Endorsing the U.S. Mayors Climate Pro- <br />tection Agreement <br />City Manager Bill Malinen, at the request of Mayor Klausing, pro- <br />vided background information on the City's status as a "Cool City" <br />and formally presented a resolution endorsing the U.S. Mayor's Cli- <br />mate Protection Agreement as amended by the 73rd annual U. S. Con- <br />ference of Mayors meeting. <br />Mayor Klausing requested City staff, City Advisory Commissions and <br />the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) to consider initia- <br />tives and to make recommendations on activities that the City of <br />Roseville could undertake to help meet "Cool Cities" standards. <br />Roe moved, Kough seconded, adoption of Resolution No. 10502 enti- <br />tled, "Resolution Endorsing US Mayors Climate Protection Agree- <br />ment ". <br />Roseville Area High School Earth Group Environmental Project stu- <br />dents, Kai Briash and Katie Salvatore accepted the resolution from <br />Mayor Klausing.
