e lar C~ Co ci eet~ <br />Monday, ay 1, 2007 <br />Page 23 <br />On an unrelated note, Parks & Recreation Director Lonnie Brokke <br />noted Rosefest Buttons were available for sale at $2.00 each. <br />Mr. Brokke reviewed in detail the staff report dated May 21, 2007 and <br />receipt of five Requests for Proposals (RFD's) froth those eight firms <br />originally contacted. Mr. Brokke provided background information; <br />and emphasized that the study would be conceptual only, and not ac- <br />tual. design work, and was anticipated to take approximately two <br />months to complete. <br />Discussion included additional costs for soil borings and/or test holes; <br />concerns and explanations related to the large dollar disparity of the <br />proposals; expertise and references of the firms; new construction ver- <br />sus retrofit experience of the firms; additional discussions on wind <br />turbine systems; and the amount of time spent by staff interviewing <br />tl~e five firms. <br />Councilmember Pust thanked Councilmember Kough for his Leader- <br />ship in bringing this energy technology forward for potential energy <br />efficiencies; and thanked Mr. Brokke for doing the preparatory re- <br />search and investigations. <br />Kough moved, Pust seconded, to authorize an agreement between the <br />City and Geo-Xergy to conduct a feasibility study as outlined in the <br />attached proposal, in an amount not to exceed $14,300, to be funded <br />by the City Building Replacement Fund. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Roe; Kough; Ihlan; Pust and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />e.
