Mr. Brokke reviewed in detail the staff report dated May 21, 2007 and receipt of five Requests for Proposals (RFD's) froth those eight firms originally contacted. Mr. Brokke provided background information; and emphasized that the study would be conceptual only, and not ac- tual. design work, and was anticipated to take approximately two months to complete. Discussion included additional costs for soil borings and/or test holes; concerns and explanations related to the large dollar disparity of the proposals; expertise and references of the firms; new construction ver- sus retrofit experience of the firms; additional discussions on wind turbine systems; and the amount of time spent by staff interviewing tl~e five firms. Councilmember Pust thanked Councilmember Kough for his Leader- ship in bringing this energy technology forward for potential energy efficiencies; and thanked Mr. Brokke for doing the preparatory re- search and investigations. Kough moved, Pust seconded, to authorize an agreement between the City and Geo-Xergy to conduct a feasibility study as outlined in the attached proposal, in an amount not to exceed $14,300, to be funded by the City Building Replacement Fund.
