During the discussion at the June 16, 2012 Council meeting, the Council noted several potential limitations <br />28 <br />or restrictions that could be imposed to avoid inadvertently creating an on-sale liquor license that could be <br />29 <br />used as a means of establishing a bar or nightclub atmosphere. They included: <br />30 <br />31 <br />Setting a maximum square footage requirement for any facility that holds an on-sale Taproom <br />32 <br />license <br />33 <br />Restricting hours of operations <br />34 <br />Restricting the sale of alcohol to only those products manufactured on site <br />35 <br />Prohibiting any amplified sound or music <br />36 <br />37 <br />Representatives of Pour Decisions Brewery will be on hand to speak to their request and to address any <br />38 <br />Council inquiries. <br />39 <br />40 <br />PO <br />OLICYBJECTIVE <br />41 <br />As noted above, the authority to establish an on-sale brewer taproom license can be found in MN State <br />42 <br />Statute 340A.301, subd. 6b. If established, this category will for the first time, allow for the consumption of <br />43 <br />alcohol on the premises without an accompanying food sales requirement. <br />44 <br />45 <br />The Council may also want to discuss other considerations such as hours of operation when deciding <br />46 <br />whether to create this new on-sale license category.
