<br />EXTRACT OF MWUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br />of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly held on the 24th day of November, <br />1997, at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Goedeke, Maschka, Mastel, Wall <br />and the following members were absent: Wiski. <br /> <br />Council Member Mastel introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9488 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION GRANTING A DRIVEWAY SETBACK VARIANCE AT <br />2912 MILDRED DRIVE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 703.048 of the Roseville City Code requires a residential <br />driveway to be set back a minimum of five feet from the side property line; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Philip and Debra Lacher have requested a variance to reduce the <br />setback of a driveway to less than one foot for the purpose of replacing an existing non- <br />conforming driveway at 2912 Mildred Drive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on the <br />request on Wednesday, November 12,1997, and recommended approval of the requested <br />variance; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville City Council received the Planning Commission's <br />recommendation on Monday, November 24,1997, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville City Council made the following findings: <br /> <br />1. Section 703.04(8)(9) of the City Code requires a residential driveway to be <br />set back a minimum of five feet from the side property line. The existing <br />driveway meets the setback requirement at the garage, but the setback <br />narrows to less than one foot at the front property line. <br /> <br />2. The proposed replacement driveway will be in the same location as the <br />existing driveway, which appears to have been installed when a portion of <br />the basement was converted to a tuck-under garage in 1967. <br /> <br />Resolution 9488 - Page 1 of 2 <br />
