Youth Commissioners' proposal for Roseville Youth Discussions <br />Roseville Youth Discussions would serve to engage youth in Htaman Rights, receive feedback <br />£rom youth, and create a positive hurnan rights environment among youth in Roseville. <br />Youth Commissioners would have dinner with youth in Roscvillc, discuss human rights, and <br />receive input. The d�scussions would be open to al� who are interested, and advertised ihrough <br />email and the youth commissioners' facebook page. <br />The discussions would begin with introductions and updates on the commission. Youth would be <br />invited to discuss human rights issues in Roseville. Discussion topics could also include human <br />rights around the world and current events. The essay questions drafted for the 20I2 middle <br />school essay contest could also �unction as discnssion topics if necessary. <br />Roseville Youth Discussions could take place at a different restaurant in Roseville each month. <br />T'his would allow participants to sample different cuisines. Youth would pay for their own <br />dinner. <br />Roseville Youth Discussions could take place in a pubtic place, possibly city ha11, wiih pizza <br />provided by the commission. Depending on the number of participants, this would probably cost <br />$20 (two ten dollar pizzas) or zx�ore each time. <br />Roseville Youth Discussions coulc� take place in a public place, possibly city hall, with a potluck <br />style dinner. Each participant could bring a disn to share. <br />With the Commission's approval, a two month trial period, with one discussion a rnonth, would <br />gage the effectiveness of Raseville Yauth Discussions. The first discussion would take place on <br />Friday, July 27th, and another discussion would talce place in August. If Roseville Youth <br />Discussions are successful in engaging yonth, they could become a montlily event. <br />
