REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: August 17, 2012 <br /> Item No.: 2.a <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Canvass Primary Election <br />B <br />ACKGROUND <br />1 <br />2 <br />Per Minnesota State Statute 205.065, a municipality shall canvass an election three days after <br />3 <br />a primary election. The City Council meets as the canvassing board, canvasses the returns, and <br />4 <br />declares the results of the election. Ramsey County provides the vote tally and Council accepts <br />5 <br />the returns. <br />6 <br />7 <br />Attached are the preliminary results of the August 14, 2012 Primary Election.
