Recognihon — Proclamation — Proclaim August 7, 2007 as Na- <br />2 tional Night Out in Roseville <br />3 Mayor Klausing read the proclamation declaring National Night Out <br />4 2007. <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />io <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />1C <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />Police Department Community Relations Coordinator and Crime pre- <br />vention Officer Heather Darby noted this was the 24"' annual event <br />and Roseville's 15t" year of involvement in the program, having won <br />national recognition in each of those 15 years. Ms. Darby mentioned <br />the donations received from several area businesses to further enhance <br />the evening, thanked the block capta.ins for work organizing their <br />neighborhoods and encouraged other block parties to register with the <br />City at 651/792-7209 or by downloading an app�ication from the Po- <br />lice Department's website. Ms. Darby noied that Iast year therre were <br />ove� 70 block parties registered with the City and encouraged more <br />this year. Ms. Darby also noYEd that the City would kickoff National <br />Night Out the evening b�fore with an event at Central Park �or fami- <br />lies, with the City's safety departments in full attendance and many <br />family events scheduled. <br />21 Ms. Darby thanked the City's Parks and Recreation, Public Works, <br />22 Police and Fire Departments for their extra work in making the events <br />23 possible in various neighborhoods. <br />24 <br />25 Mayor Klaus�ng reiterated Ms. Da.rby's appreciation to City staff and <br />26 various departments �or their participation in this wonderful activity <br />27 and encouraged all residents to participate. <br />28 <br />29 Councilmember Kough also thanked the departments, and encouraged <br />30 block parties to register so Councilmembers could attend as many as <br />31 possible. <br />32 <br />33 Kough moved, Pust seconded, Tuesday, August 7, 2007 as 24th An- <br />34 nual National Night 4ut in Roseville; and encouraged aIl nezghbor- <br />35 haod groups to take advantage of the evening to promote cooperative, <br />36 police-community crime and drug prevention efforts and communica- <br />37 tion among neighbors. <br />38 <br />39 Roll Call <br />
