pubtish a"Call Before You Dig" article in our newsletter annually in the
April and/or June issue.
1.5 The City should persuade GSOC to produce a short (10 minute) video
#ape regarding excavation regufations and locate services. The video
tape should then be made available to cities that can and will show it on
the City's N ciiannel.
Finding(s)
i Roseville is now a highly populated residential community with active shopping
malis and pubiic gathering places sucF as office buildings, schools and parlcs
with pipelines nearby. Natural gas and hazardous fiquids pipeiines and pipeline
terminals abound in our City.
Recommendaton
1.fi Because of Rosevifle's high exposure to natural gas and hazardous liquid
pipelines, the City should persuade the Minnesota Office of Pipeline
Safety to conduct inspections of alf pipelines in Roseville on an alternate
year basis. Tornados and wind storms can uproot
trees resulting in damage to nearby pipelines. DQT pipeline regulations require
that pipefine routes be kept clear and inspected regularly.
