It cuzrently contains reed canary grass and <br />glossy buckthorn, invasive species that arc quickly reducing the ecological integrity of the basin <br />by shading and out competing native species. <br />This basin extends beyor�d the park boundary to the south and east. Beyond the park boundary is <br />over tr�vo-acres of shallow marsh dominated by cattails. A boardwalk cuts throuah the wetland at <br />an angle and offers excellent viewing opportunities to the public. A green heron and son�birds, <br />such as goldfinch, were observed the day of the inventory. <br />An aggressive maintenance program to reduce glossy buckthorn and reed canary grass would <br />reduce shading and compctition from these invasive species ancf allow the remnant native plant <br />species an opportunity to re-establish. <br />City of Rosevifle 7� <br />Parks Natural Resource Mctrrctgemerat <br />
