ROSEVILLE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br />Meeting Minutes <br />No�ember 24,1999 <br />The meeting was called to order at 5:35pm. <br />Members Present: Bob King and Jed Ipsen <br />Members Absent: Jack Weidenbach <br />Others Present: Paul Wood, Police Chi�f and Karen Kurt, Human Resources <br />Director. <br />New Business <br />Chief Wood presented the results of the testing process for the position of Police <br />Officer. Three candidates were proposed for the eligibility list. <br />Motion: King moved that the eligibility list be approved as presented. Ipsen <br />seconded. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Karen Kurt presented two items for initial review by the Commission. The first <br />item was a proposal far a Police Cadet program at the City of Roseville. This <br />program would enable the City to be able to refain qualified Community Service <br />Officers after they pass their POST exam. The item was presented to the <br />Commission because a key component of the program would be to allow the <br />testing of internal candidates for Police Officer as they become elig�bfe for the <br />position. <br />The second iiem was an update of the Civi1 Service Rules. The proposed <br />changes were intended to bring the Rules i� to closer alignment wifih current <br />hiring practices and department needs. Both of the items will be reviewed again <br />at a future meeting. <br />Chief Wood updated the Commission on a change in the internal organizational <br />structure. The Chief stated #hat the position of case coordinator is going to <br />become a rotational position. This change is intended to prepare the department <br />for impending retirements by cross training department staff. <br />Adjournment <br />Motion: King moved to adjoUrn the meeting at 6:OOpm. Ipsen seconded. Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />
